????Starting from August 11, USTC delegation, headed by Party Secretary Tang Honggao, visited six well-known European universities and two research centers. The 20-day trip covered the Cambridge University, Oxford University and Nottingham in Britain, the University of Stuttgart and Berlin University of Technology in Germany, the State Scientific Research Center and Bienvenue ?? l'Universit?? Paris in France, as well as the International Theoretic Physics Center in Italy. Members of the delegation included Jin Dasheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, Wang Xufa, Permanent Vice Dean of the Institute of Information Science and Technology, Liao Boqi, Vice Dean of the Business School and Zhou Zhengkai from the Foreign Affairs Office.
????The visit, as a part of the international cooperation and exchanges activities launched by USTC, is aimed to establish close cooperation ties with these universities and institutes. Meanwhile, the delegation also studied education concepts, mode and operation of European major universities, which would be of help for USTC to build itself into a prestigious university. The visit also expanded the knowledge of USTC within Europe and intensified the university's ties with its overseas students.
