Bearing the responsibilities to implementing "Xinjiang Academic Discipline Building Project" and advancing the development of schools which accept supports, standing deputy secretary of USTC Party and vice president Xu Wu, Secretary-general Wang Keqiang, president assistant Dou Xiankang, with charges from School of Graduates, Personnel Office, School of Sciences, School of Chemistry and Materials, School of Earth and Space are bound for Xinjiang Normal University, which will strike an association with USTC. Such a move signals USTC formally launching "Xinjiang Academic Discipline Building Project" under Ministry of Education.

According to the arrangement of plan, USTC will support three first-level subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

The advanced education in Xinjiang relatively lags behind the national average level. The core mission of "Xinjiang Academic Discipline Building Project" is that USTC as an aid to developing rational-structured subjects' staff and managing groups, and then setting up corresponding degree grounds.
