USTC schoolmate Xie Ming is elected as IEEE (International Institute of Electrical Engineers) Fellow, the highest honorary prize in the electrical engineer scope in the world. So far, there have been 12 USTC schoolmates elected as the IEEE Fellows.
Xie Ming is born in Lian Yungang of Jiangsu Province in 1963 and passes into the USTC special class for the gifted young. He is the first one of the special class studying abroad. In 1991, he is awarded the "Li Guangyao Top Science and Research Prize". Now he takes the position of Industry and Systematical Engineering professor in National University of Singapore. |
