The Key CAS Laboratory of Bond Selective Chemistry was approved to open up to domestic and overseas researchers in 1997 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences to promote the scientific research in China. In recent years, under the construction of the key subject "The Artificial Control of Chemical Reactions" in "The 211 Project of USTC", the laboratory has made important scientific achievements in the fields of local-mode vibration spectroscopy and dynamics of chemical reactions, imaging & manipulation of single atom & single molecule, detection & manipulation of macromolecules, nano-particles & bio-cells, and fundamental research in green chemistry. The laboratory has also achieved remarkable successes in the development of academic teams, the construction of interdiscilinary subjects, and combination of theoretical & experimental studies. The goal of the laboratory is: utilizing the techniques of laser and scanning probe microscopies to directly detect and manipulate single atoms, molecules and bio-cells, to study the basic problems in chemistry, physics and biology , and finally to realize the bond-selective chemistry and the design of the artificial molecules and bio-cells. | |
