Forty-two students from the Special Class for the Gifted Young at USTC attended the adult ceremony on the Snow Dragon Scientific Expedition Ship, which recently returned from the South Pole. Under our national flag, they vowed to dedicate themselves to the scientific cause of China.
The Special Class for the Gifted Young has been holding this kind of ceremony for 9 years at places of important instructive meaning. The purpose of the ceremony has been to reinforce the students' awareness of citizenship, to help develop their character and respect for science and technology and to motivate them to contribute to the cause of national defense and economic development. | |
